A Christmas Cutie

This little cutie makes only her second debut in front of a pro cam, according to her mommy (yes indeedy I am thinking... for shame! for shame! lol). Yes, it's quite an onerous task trying to capture "decent" images of tots, no doubt.

Again, my occupation makes me feel like a robber. I'm taking money from people when I feel I haven't even lifted a finger. I'm simply capturing the moment, no matter what the moment. I'm stealing (like a robber) smiles left and right from this one! They may have only appeared for 1/125th of a second, but still, I got 'em! Relax mommy... mission accomplished... and here's proof(s):

This was a card option. As soon as I came across the caption, I thought it was peeerrrrrrrfect for this image! These digital elements can be found at Shabby Miss Jenn Designs and Weeds and Wildflowers Design.

Don't you just love a bit dance time from a little girl? Awe!
No music. All personality!

3rd Time and Still a Charm

1. Newborn pix

2. Six month pix

3. One year pix + Christmas pix

All in 2009;) not to mention the maternity shoot in 2008. This family is simply the BEST! Every photo shoot with them just pushes my portfolio over the top.

I really enjoy the spontaneity and the drive this client has to get "out of the box" images from CP. We were joking around during the sis/bro portion of the program while lil sis was swatting and clawing at big bro. The more she swung at him, the more I shot;) I made the comment that one of the images from the (non violent - all love) brawl should be the Christmas card image.

So... this is what evolved...

Text: Please send Santa soon & no one gets their eyes clawed out.

She can play nice too...

It was her first birthday!!! Happy happy birthday to you! Little sweet one, I loooove taking your picture - your mommy knows;) This is another digi backdrop made with a little help from Mask Pro. I fell in love with the hat box as soon as I saw it. You know how I have a penchant for a rich damask.

Mommy and me...

A page from Weeds and Wildflowers Design. Check them out... they hog a few gigs on my Dell!

I want candy... eye candy that is! Have you ever REALLY taken candy away from a baby??? lol I have had to a few times this season!!! This one wasn't so bad - once we took the sucker away - we gave her a cake! Not a bad trade!

Oh oh, and this is the icing on the cake... or on the face.

on the backdrop.

on the tutu.

on the floor.

in the sink.

on my mommy.

in my hair.

Worth it!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR AN INCREDIBLE YEAR MISS "H".

P is for Photogenic

This family was A*MAZING to work with! I didn't have to pose them hardly at all. The boys were naturals when it came time to set up the shots. I enjoyed shooting this project because it was mostly "all boys" in my "all girl" world. I had a taste of how ROWDY boys can be, but at the same time, they were just hilarious;) So much energy and spunk in this bunch... not to mention the brotherly LOVE!

This is currently my *all time favorite* image!!! I'm crazy in love with it! The little one launched himself right into the shot - how funny was that? It was his idea so we had a few takes of this until daddy became sore!

Could we get any more cute here, folks? Goooooo Colts! Digital elements from SMJ Designs.

Momba and Me

This is my BFF and her mom... aka: Momba. They wanted some images together just for fun. I used a damask texture that I absolutely LOVE!!! The pillow fight was adorable! How fun to spend some time in a studio with your momba;)

A Photo Gift

What a great gift idea;) This photo shoot is a surprise (and Christmas gift) to this dynamic duo's parents. Let's pretend the little one didn't run home and tell his mommy ALL about it!!

Baby "R"... Delivered

Calling all newborns... have your mommy call me before you are born to schedule and photo session;)

This is baby "R". His mommy scheduled this session 6 months before he was born. I had all summer to plan for his arrival. I collected some more newborn props from ETSY (knit bear hat + diaper cover). If you have not shopped on ETSY, it can be a real treat if you're into crafts and homemade non-retail items. There's dozens of stores that cater to photographers for props and clothing. Unique stuff!!

Mitch helped me move the studio to a much larger space. I'm able to use two lights, a reflector and seamless roll paper with plenty of room to shoot.

I swaddled baby "R" and spiked his hair - awwwww! I took a few shots and then I whispered... smile;) and this is what he did...

A little antique action...

He was so zonked out on this football. His name was added in Photoshop (as an overlay).

Has he stolen your heart YET???

This is one of my favorites. I love how the brown and blue damask makes the image look rich and unique.

And the birth announcement gift.
